Donna Lucia's Torta De Banana

Ingredients:

1 Cup Sugar Beat together sugar and butter until creamy.
Mix flour with baking powder and salt.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Alternately, add the flour mixture and milk, one-third of each at a time, to the sugar-butter mixture.  Then, fold in the egg whites, without further beating.  Spread the dough into a 9X13 inch cake pan. Put the bananas, cut side up, over the dough and sprinkle on a mixture of about (ao gosto de fregues) one-quarter tsp. cinnamon to two Tbs. sugar.
Bake, on middle rack of oven, at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, covering loosely with foil during the last 20 minutes or so to prevent over-browning.
1 Cup Butter
3 Cup Flour
1 Tbl. Baking Powder
  Pinch Salt
1 Cup Milk
3 Egg Whites
4-5 Bananas, ripe
